A number of students who are seeking admission to First Year Junior College through the minority, management or in-house quotas have filled part I of the online application form and not part II. These students will now be given the opportunity fill part II of their form and confirm it for the admission process, after the deputy director of school education decided to open the portal on June 21 and 22.

The portal fyjc.org.in/mumbai was opened for students on May 16. The education department had announced that the online admission process for FYJC courses would be from June 7 to June 17.

But the deputy director of school education has observed that while some students have not applied for the online admission process at all, some others have not confirmed it. For their benefit, the education department has decided to open the portal for two days again, that is on June 21 and 22.

Students who have submitted their application after filling up both part I and part II of the online admission forms by June 17 can check the general merit list to ascertain whether their names have appeared in the list. Students have been advised to check their application again and if there is any incomplete information, they can approach their school or guidance centres to correct their application. Students can then fill both their application and the option form with the help of their application ID and password and send their application for admission by confirming it.

Radha Sharma (name changed on request), a principal in a college in the western suburbs, said: "Many students who are seeking admission through the in-house quota have not filled their option form, which is part II of the online admission process for FYJC. Hence, the department has extended the application dates for such students."
