App study says women want men who like taking care of themselves

According to a recent survey conducted by truly madly, a mobile dating application, around 61% women liked men who took an effort to look good. 39% men thought grooming is best left to women. More than 50% women also wanted men to pay the bill on the first date. 46% women wanted to be involved in planning the date as compared to 62% men.

From the sample of around 300,000 people across india and with a random selection of 120000 answers, this survey was carried out over a month ago. With more than 70 per cent of people from metro cities and 30% from non top ten cities, the survey tried to gauge dating trends among the 22-27 year old men and women.

As a part of their registration process, applicants have to answer compatibility quizzes through which these statistics have been taken. Truly madly has half a million downloads and the CEO and co-founder of the app Sachin Bhatia was not a little bit surprised with the results. "It was surprising to see many women not expecting men to pay for the first date. It also talks of the aspirations of the women in non metro cities. The app only accepts verified singles so that women feel secure. Its an app that was launched recently," he said.

The study reveals that 52% men would choose their careers over their relationships compared to 47% women. More or less equal number of men and women were comfortable sharing their social media passwords with their partner. One of the aspects of the study also said that 49% women claimed to be social butterflies.
