The Delhi police have arrested one more accused in connection with the double murder of a mother-son duo in Dilshad Colony, on Sunday night.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Amit, a resident of Nand Nagri area, had helped the main accused Ankit in the murders.

During the initial investigation, the police claimed that the motive of the murder can be enmity although they also found some ransacking in the house. The family members told the police that there were not many valuable things kept in the house.

In the CCTV footage, a suspect was seen entering the house and leaving after a few hours on Friday night. CCTV footage obtained from stairs of the building revealed movement of the deceased Ravi and two youths.

"Ankit was arrested from the Nand Nagri area on Sunday afternoon. He was a friend of the son (Lucky). He had taken a loan of Rs 25,000 from the 45-year-old woman Beena through her son Ravi, and was unable to return it. They also wanted to steal money and jewellery found in the house. Ankit had the impression that Beena would have a handsome amount of money and jewellery. However, they found no cash or jewellery in the house and hence took away the motorcycle of deceased Ravi in order to sell it," said Meghna Yadav, Deputy commissioner of police (Shahdara).

Based on the information provided by Ankit, the police arrested Amit late on Sunday night.

On Saturday evening, a police control room call was made by Beena's sister when she could not reach her for the whole day on Saturday. Later she went to check on her. On reaching her sister's house, she found the house locked and Beena's phone switched off. The PCR call was made around 9:15 pm.

The police reached the house and found Lucky's body in the bathroom whereas Beena's body was found inside a bed box. Both of them had been stabbed with a sharp weapon.
