ALM plants around 1000 trees in Malad

A major tree plantation drive was organised under the aegis of the Advance Locality Management (ALM) Committee of Mindspace in Malad on Sunday. The ALM covers the area from Hypercity up to Croma showroom and all areas to the west of the Link Road in Malad. The ALM is registered with both the P South and P North wards of the BMC and is registered under the Societies Act.

Around 5,000 trees were planted along the creek and another 500 large trees with metal tree guards were planted on the internal roads. The campaign has been supported by the BMC and other agencies. Local MLA, Aslam Shaikh, inaugurated the drive and donated 500 saplings. Shaikh lauded the ALM for the initiative taken by it. He also administered an oath to the large gathering of citizens to keep the area garbage free, save water and energy and be sensitive to any unlawful or suspicious activities happening in the neighbourhood.

The ALM plans to plant at least 10,000 trees this year.
