Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on Monday made it clear that state government would examine legalities and would not hesitate to take action against Raj Thackeray.
He said the state government would not tolerate if any leader delivers a provocative speech asking people to attack toll booths.
He added that in a democracy, every party has the right to agitate but it has to be within the framework of the Constitution. He said that he would discuss the issue with chief minister but no one would be allowed to take the law in one’s own hand.
Pawar said the policy to impose toll tax had been introduced 15 years ago during the tenure of National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre. He said the chief minister has already announced that the new toll policy would be announced soon. Pawar told that it was inevitable to charge toll as doing away with toll tax would result in financial burden on the state.
