National carrier Air India has put up a total of 30 flats — 14 of them make up one whole building — for auction in Mumbai. The worth of all the properties, located at Bandra, Cuffe Parade, Prabhadevi, Khar and Malad, is close to Rs 250 crore.

The properties had been put up on sale earlier as well, the last time in September-October. But no one came forward to buy them.

The bids for the current auction will close on December 4.

The reserve price for the building with 14 flats — measuring 2,006 sq m and located in Pali Hill — is Rs 200 crore. A three BHK flat at Nav Vidhya Lakshmi, Mahim, has been priced at Rs 3.12 crore.

Another 3BHK flat, for which the reserve price is Rs 5.15 crore, a 2BHK flat priced Rs 4.28 crore and a 2BHK for Rs 4.88 crore, have been put on the block in a building named Sachin Da Strains, Khar.

One 3-BHK flat, in Venus Apartment, Cuffe Parade, has been priced at Rs 7.32 crore, while nine 2BHK flats, in Aquarius Taurus building, Malad, are being sold for Rs 89 lakh each.

One flat in Cozihom Co-operative Housing Society, Bandra is being sold for Rs 10.36 crore. Another flat (1,385 sq ft) in Twin Towers Premises Cooperative Society Ltd, Prabhadevi, has been priced at Rs 7 crore.

The online bidding process is being conducted by state-run MSTC India, and an international real estate consultancy firm is helping Air India in finding buyers.

A senior Air India official said, "The last auction didn't get us any bidders for the properties in Mumbai, so we have to hold the auction of these properties again. We have to sell them off and we are repeating the process. It seems like Mumbai's real estate market is having an impact on the sales."

The national carrier has been hoping that some government agency makes a bid to buy the properties, as it is easy to deal and transfer the properties when two government bodies are involved. However, there have been no takers for these properties for quite some time now.

The property prices put by Air India, said a realtor, are quite competitive but the market in Mumbai isn't very favourable for sales right now. Therefore, there aren't many takers.
