The Ahmedabad International Literature Festival (AILF), which seeks to promote writing, reading among children and young adults, will be held at the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat near Gujarat University on November 24 and 25.

AILF is conceptualised as a collaborative and inclusive literary gathering, wherein luminaries from all walks of life and litterateurs engage with literature enthusiasts.

"The AILF brings together established and emerging writers and authors, and also publishers, journalists, academicians, readers, and students from all over India and abroad to celebrate literature, art and culture. It is designed to act as a bridge between Gujarati literature and Indian / international literature," festival director Umashanker Yadav said.

He said the festival seeks to promote writing and reading, particularly among children and young adults, with a focus on storytelling, poetry, and self development.

The fest will feature more than 60 speakers, authors and celebrities from different fields. Panel discussions on Stories of IAS officers, Cinema and society, Journey of a journalist, Stories of sports, Art City and Smart City, Gujarati short stories, significance of humour in literature, God is the greatest scientist, among others are slated during the festival.

"We are introducing a session where panelists will discuss how smart cities can be turned into 'art cities' as well by building the cultural capital," he added.
