'Ek Dujje Ke Liye' just doesn't seem to the right phrase for yesteryear Bollywood actress Rati Agnihotri and her businessman husband Anil Virwani. On Saturday, Agnihotri approached Worli police and registered an FIR against her husband for cruelty, criminal intimidation and voluntary causing hurt.

According to Worli police, Agnihotri, who had acted in super hit movies like 'Ek Dujje Ke Liye', 'Coolie' and 'Shaukeen', approached the cops on Saturday and submitted a written complaint against her husband Virwani.
After verifying the allegations made by Agnihotri, the Worli police recorded her statement and registered an FIR.

In her compliant to the police, the actress alleged that she has been married to Virwani from the past 30 years and over the years, has been assaulted by her husband.

On March 7, when she was assaulted by Virwani, she decided to finally approach the police. Agnihotri claimed that on March 7, she went to Poddar hospital and got herself treated for the injuries sustained in the assault.
Deputy commissioner of police (Zone III), S. Jayakumar said: "Agnihotri came to the Worli police station and after verifying the facts, we registered an FIR against her husband."

He added: "We will investigate what the reasons behind the assault were, and since when she has been treated badly by her husband."

Agnihotri also informed the police the reason for delay in filing the complaint against her husband. "We are told by the complainant that she had gone to Lonavala between the days of the assault," said Vinay Kulkarni, senior police inspector from Worli police station.

The Worli police informed that they have already asked Virwani to record his statement in connection with the case.

Virwani has been booked under IPC Sections 498A (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 350 (Criminal force) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation).
