Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and his companions reportedly had a bitter experience in a GoAir flight on Monday during their journey to Chandigarh for a promotional event.

Kapoor alleged that the airline staff not only goofed up with the gate number printed on the boarding passes, but were also rude and arrogant to his team, which included woman passengers.

The actor tweeted: "Ridiculous behaviour and inconvenience to the 100 other passengers... appalled at the ground staff men ashamed". In another tweet, he said, "Go air full of crap badly behaved staff loud and rude to women arrogant after ******* up gate number s on boarding passes".

The airline management offered a completely different version to the story. According to an airline spokesperson, Kapoor was traveling to Chandigarh with a group of 18 passengers. One among them reported late for the flight, while the others had already checked-in and boarded the plane. The airline staff expressed its inability to accept the last passenger after the close-out at the gate as it would have led to delay in the flight's departure, he said.

"On learning that a fellow group member would not be able to join them, the 17 customers, who had boarded the flight, raised a protest that they would not take the flight if their fellow group member was not accepted," said the spokesperson. This would have meant off-loading the checked-in luggage of the entire group and deplaning the 17 passengers. This would have taken long, added the spokesperson.

Hence, the airline staff decided to expedite the process of taking the one passenger, who got late. The entire process delayed the flight, which caused inconvenience to other flyers in the city. The airline officials also denied that they were rude to the women or any member of the group.
