What did officials recover from Anchule's residence?
At Anchule's residence, the sleuths recovered documents of expensive flats in Thane, Pune, Navi and Andheri, all worth crores, in both his and wife's name, Rs 8.2 lakh in cash, 380 grams of gold, 300 grams of silver, documents of a petrol pump, bank pass books with a balance of Rs 14 lakh. His wife is unemployed and both his children are aged 12 and 8.

Why did ACB book the complainant?
The Thane ACB also registered a case against the complainant, an excise sub-inspector, under the Prevention of Corruption Act on January 22. Fearing that he would be denied a promotion as excise inspector, he approached Anchule and Dhanshetty for promotion and so that a departmental probe is not conducted against him. The accused duo demanded Rs 18 lakh in return for the favour. The sub-inspector complained to the ACB's Mumbai office after which the two accused were caught while accepting the bribe in the excise department's Koliwada office in Thane.
