The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recently received voice samples which could act as evidence against Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, G Vijay Krishnan Yadav, who was has been allegedly pulled up for taking bribes.

The voice sample has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for testing and the ACB is awaiting the reports.

Six months ago, an offence of theft was registered against a 34-year-old transporter at the Tivasa Police Station at Amravati. Yadav, who was then posted as a probationary Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Amravati, had allegedly demanded bribes from the complainant in exchange for dilution of charges against him.

The victim had paid him the money but Yadav continued demanding more money, said the complainant.

Subsequently, the officer lodged a complaint with the ACB against Yadav.

"Yadav had recently filed an anticipatory bail application in the Aurangabad Bench of High Court through his lawyers after which we had told the court that we have been tracking Yadav but could not find him and requested that be told to be present in the court during the final hearing on his anticipatory bail application. Yadav's bail application hearing in the court is on April 12," said an officer privy to the investigation.
