Aarey Mahotsav on Sunday where you can get closer to nature

Save Aarey Conservation Group, along with organisations like Vanshakti and Green line, are organising ‘Aarey Mahotsav’, on Sunday, May 24 at Chhota Kashmir, Goregaon East.

The festival is being organised for the first time by the group so that people from different walks of life come together and connect with nature.

Speaking with iamin, Priya Mishra, coordinator, Save Aarey Conservation Group said, “We have organised the festival on the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, which is celebrated on May 22. The festival has many workshops, games and performing art events which will connect the community with nature. We have organised events such as nature trail and photography exhibition which will highlight the biodiversity in Aarey to the visitors.”

Other activities during the festival include poetry workshop, warli painting, banner painting and drawing competition, pottery making, juggling and treasure hunt.

The Warli tribal community staying inside Aarey Colony will be performing traditional Warli dance. Also, children from Bandra slums will be performing street play titled The Giving Tree.

Date: May 24.
Time: 4 pm onwards.
Nature trail timing: 6.30 am to 10.30 am.
