A Twitter war has broken out between Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar and Yuva Sena president Aaditya Thackeray on Tuesday. Shelar took to Twitter aggressively posting proofs of correspondence for the promenade, football ground, theme park in Bandra after Thackeray junior claimed the credit for the work.

It all began when Aaditya tweeted about his achievements. However, this did not go well with the senior BJP leader, who claimed that he kept quite two months ago when 'Yuvraj' put up posters at the football ground. Shelar took to social media aggressively and posted all the correspondence with the related authority, no objection certificates, appointment of consultants and other details on twitter. Thackeray, however, chose to remain silent during the entire day and did not reply to counter Shelar thereafter.

"I thought let him put up posters since people know who did the work; but this time around, Aaditya has gone too far. I needed to clarify this time. He can't take credit for what he has not worked for. He simply wrote letters for the work I have already done. I have been working on these projects since 2011 and my correspondence proves this," Shelar told dna.

Thackeray tweeted on Tuesday morning: "I have proposed to MSRDC minister Eknath Shinde (of Shiv Sena) that MSRDC develop an open space for all in its 22 acre plot at Bandra reclamation."

The plot is on the other side of road, not near the bay, and it can be made and maintained by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation as a playground and open space for everyone.

"The playground would have a natural walking path, lined with trees and open space for kids to play whichever sport they want to," Thackeray said via twitter.

"Within the plot, I have requested that a smaller zone be made into a pet park, children's play area and flower garden, Called 'Bandra Ground'," he tweeted.

Within minutes Shelar responded, tweeting: "My appeal to Aaditya Thackeray, give credit where (it is) due. It does not cost a thing. I feel what is going on from your fellows is 'credit corruption'."

"What I have learnt in my short period as MLA is that good work sets an example. Sometimes other parties want credit for your work," said the city BJP chief.

"I feel awkward settling the score on credits for this MSRDC project. But if we don't give credit where (it is) due, development will get hurt," he added.

He further said: "This culture of putting your flag, taking post and blatantly stealing credit has brought our state down. We don't need to inherit this please. Shiv Sena has never done anything like pet theme park, open garden, football ground," Shelar said.

Shelar said that on the promenade front, he got all stakeholders together, organised multiple meetings and got the architect-consultant finalised.

"On the football front, I promoted football all along. Got action plan finalised. Paid deposit. Now Aaditya Thackeray wants credit. Come on. Cheap," he tweeted.
