90% schools register for SSC aptitude test

The board in its circular had stated that it will conduct an inspection of all schools between December 9 and 23 to check whether they have sufficient computers to conduct this test online.

After the state government announced that students of grade 10 will have to compulsorily take an aptitude test during their SSC examination in February 2016, more than 90% schools have registered themselves with the Maharashtra State Board Secondary Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) to conduct the examination.

After the state board sent the circular regarding the test in the second week of December to all 21,920 schools in the state, around 1,55,000 computers have been linked up with MSBSHSE till now.

The board in its circular had stated that it will conduct an inspection of all schools between December 9 and 23 to check whether they have sufficient computers to conduct this test online.

Gangadhar Mhamane, chairman, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Higher Secondary Education, said, "A good number of schools have registered with the board and also 1,55,000 computers have been linked up with board in order to conduct the aptitude test.

We did a survey of how many computers are there in schools and found that while some have four to five, other have more than ten. In rural areas, schools have lesser number of computers. We have told them to conduct the test with the help of CDs. Hardly four to five schools remain to register with us. The process will get completed by January. The aptitude test will surely be a successful." This aptitude test will help many students to decide which stream they should chose for their future career.
