62 dengue cases in 4 days

Around 102 cases were reported till September 11, the civic authority said. The cases of dengue rise sharply every year, especially after the monsoon. The maximum number of cases are in September, October, and November.

The city has recorded 62 dengue cases over the last four days, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health department. 

The city recorded 164 dengue cases till September 5, and three patients — including two children - 1.5-year-old  from Dharavi, 9-year-old from Juhu and a 34-year-old man from Bandra — succumbed to the infection, the department said.

Around 102 cases were reported till September 11, the civic authority said. The cases of dengue rise sharply every year, especially after the monsoon.  The maximum number of cases are in September, October, and November.

The data also reveals that there has been 34 cases and two deaths due to leptospirosis registered in the city. Between September 1 to 15, over 1,659 people were admitted to civic-run hospitals.  According to civic body authority, various surveys were carried out after the heavy August 29 flood.
