6 held in history sheeter murder case

The Wadala Truck Terminus (TT) police arrested all the six accused for the murder of history sheeter John Fernandes Velfare within twenty four hours on Monday.

The 22-year-old, who is also a part of police records, became a victim of an ongoing rivalry and was murdered at about 1.22pm in Vijay Nagar in Wadala.

“The six arrested accused were all set to take trains back to their hometowns and were scattered all around Dadar station,”said senior inspector of Wadala TT police, Nagesh Jadhav. “But we sent different teams in all directions and arrested the six of them.

The arrested accused have been identified as Pandurang Koundar, 24, Arvind Chaurasia, 21, Kannan Koundar, 67, Rajjeet Kumar, 21, Gurmeet Dilguj, 20, and Chakarvarty Koundar, 35.

All the accused have been remanded in police custody for ten days.

According to preliminary investigations, the Gowda group and the deceased were at loggerheads with each other as both supplied illegal water and electricity in the area. According to the police, even the deceased had cases registered against him under sections 53 and 110 of the Bombay Police Act.
