50 kids from Marol, Andheri to bring the Christmas story to life at evening of carols on Saturday

The children from the first to ninth of St John's the Evangelist Church, Marol will bring their angelic voices to the fore on December 21, 2013.

With Christmas round the corner, the joy of the season is in the air. Carols, Christmas decorations and music are all around in shops and malls.

St. John's the Evangelist Church in Marol, Andheri are set to have an evening of carols on December 21 at 8 pm where the children of the parish who are called Angelic voices will sing.

Christopher Khan who is in-charge of the children's choir said, "We have 50 children who are from class 1 to 9 who are part of the choir that will be singing. For the past two years we have had the singing but this year we will also be having a Christmas story play."

The play called The Christmas Story will focus on the various symbols of the festival from the star to the holly to the tree. The choir which is made up of 50 students also has a Facebook page with many likes.

The kids have been practising hard since October and meet every Saturday from 4-6 pm to practise for Sunday mass singing as well as the carols that they will perform.

Khan reveals, "This year we have made a special red T-short with the Angelic voices logo that the children will wear as they sing. The play and songs is between 35-40 minutes. Many adult choirs sing Christmas carols but this is by kids who have the voices of angels. People who wish to hear the Christmas songs must surely attend this."
