The Malad police have registered a case against four unknown persons for allegedly stabbing to death a 47-year-old man. The incident took place on Thursday night when the victim, identified as Jayram Nadar, had come near Orlem church for some work. As Nadar was walking towards his bike, four unidentified goons repeatedly stabbed him, causing his death.

According to the police, Nadar resided with his wife and son near Marve Road in Malad. Nadar, who used to do plumbing and plating work, was also allegedly involved in other criminal activities. In the past, he was arrested by the Malad police for his 'involvement' in a murder case.

"On Thursday night, Nadar had come near Vanlai complex for some work. Around 10:30 pm, he finished his work and was walking towards his bike when he was surrounded by a group of four men. The miscreants then hacked him with choppers and sickles. After the attack, the accused persons fled, leaving behind a profusely bleeding Nadar, who was rushed to Shatabdi hospital where he was pronounced dead," said a police officer.

"We are investigating the case and are also trying to make sure that the accused persons don't leave the state. The weapons used in the murder have been recovered. We are suspecting rivalry behind this murder," said Sudhir Mahadik, senior police inspector of Malad police station.
