Four people, including three girls, sustained injuries after their car skidded and rammed into a divider on the Western Express Highway in Bandra in the wee hours of Wednesday. The police said the injured are recuperating in hospital and out of danger.
The Kherwadi police said the incident happened when Kalina resident Jay Seth (26), who had gone for dinner with friends to Colaba, was returning home in his father's car, around 3.45am. When they reached the flyover in Bandra (East), the car, which was allegedly being driven at a high speed, skidded due to rain. Seth lost control and dashed into the divider and then turned turtle, said an officer.
Passers-by then called up the police control room and a patrolling van went to the spot. The four were taken to hospital.
"We have registered a traffic accident diary because there was no negligence on the driver's part," said senior inspector Sujata Patil.
