3,000 set the BKC-Jogeshwari stretch roaring with bike rally

Early on Sunday morning, while Mumbaikars snuggled into their blankets, around 3,000 individuals were in Bandra-Kurla Complex with their bicycles, mopeds and motorbikes going from the business district to the SRPF Parade Ground in Jogeshwari.
This bicycle and bike rally may be the largest ever Mumbai has witnessed. You name the model and, in all likelihood, you would have found the motorbike gathered at the location.
The two-wheelers ranged right from the most common to the expensive high-end and even customised bikes as the participants had brought out their Yezdis, Royal Enfields, Honda Activa and Jupiter, Honda Shine, Hero Honda Splendour, Suzuki Hayabusa, KTM, DSK Hyosung, Harley Davidson, Yamaha Dragstar, etc.
In took close to an hour for the long queue of bikes to enter and for the bikers settle at the ground.
The Western Express Highway between Bandra and Jogeshwari was a sight for bike enthusiasts, with passers-by and even on-duty policemen being unable to resist themselves from clicking pictures. Traffic on the highway was stopped for the rally to pass uninterrupted.
At Jogeshwari, the ground roared with revving of the engines. Some of the participants had come from Pune. Celebrities too participated in the event but only on the dais. These included singer Shaan, RJ Mallishka, Ranvijay Singh, Arjun Bijlani, Pallavi Sharda, Bhoomi Trivedi and Dino Morea.
The rally was part of the attempt to create a Guinness World Record for the largest road safety lesson. In India, Road Safety Week was observed between January 11 and 17.
