3 swine flu cases detected till October 15

Within 15 days the city has recorded 124 dengue cases and 287 malaria cases in the month of October this year.

Only three H1N1 cases were detected in the first two weeks of October. This year, in August the number of swine flu cases were 122 and in September there were 33 cases. Of the 33 cases last month, 27 cases were detected till September 15. The number of swine flu cases has gone down drastically.

Within 15 days the city has recorded 124 dengue cases and 287 malaria cases in the month of October this year.

Speaking about the H1N1 cases, Dr Mini Khetrepal, head of epidemiology cell, said, "It also depends upon the climatic changes in the season. A lot of variations can be seen in the climatic conditions. There has been a drastic drop in the number of swine flu cases this month compared to any other month this year. The data is only of those who are admitted in civic-run hospital. "

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health department, the city recorded 164 dengue cases in the first 15 days of September.

As per the BMC's health department every year, there has been an increase in the number of dengue cases after the monsoon season.

The data released by the BMC's health department for October also states that there are 12 leptospirosis cases, 275 gastro cases, 52 hepatitis cases and nil cholera cases.
