3 arrested for stabbing neighbour's kids

A Thane youth along with his two accomplices allegedly stabbed two of his neighbours on Sunday night after their mother confronted him for spitting pan masala under their window wall. The injured victims are being admitted at a private hospital for treatment.

The woman who is a resident of Sadguru Sainath Nivas in Ramnagar in Wagle Estate of Thane was standing near her door when the main accused Malikarjun Mane (25), came walking and spat pan masala under the window wall of her apartment. When she confronted him for the act he indulged into a verbal duel and as soon her kids Nikesh and Suraj arrived, the accused called out his two accomplices Ganesh Mane (28) and Bheema Mane, went inside the kitchen and stabbed the duo with a knife in the abdomen.

"The woman questioned him for dirtying her window wall as he spat and was walking by without paying attention to her complains when he suddenly came back and indulged in a verbal duel with the woman," said a Srinagar police official.

"When the two kids arrived the main accused called up his brothers and assaulted the woman and her kids. He later went inside the kitchen and brought a knife and stabbed the two kids in the abdomen and left hand. "The duo are critical in condition as they have suffered severe injuries while the three accused have been taken into custody," the official added.

"We have registered the case under section 307(attempt to murder), 324(voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 323(voluntarily causing hurt), 504(intentional insult), 506(criminal intimidation) and 34(common intent) of the Indian Penal Code. We have seized the weapon used in the crime and the trio have been remanded into police custody," said MG Tungenvar, Investigation officer, Srinagar police station.
