28-year-old Bhiwandi man murdered, accused surrenders

A 28-year-old man, Maqsood Ahmed Shaikh, was murdered after being repeatedly attacked by a chopper on his hands, back stomach and later surrendered himself to the Bhoiwada police station in Bhiwandi. The incident took place on December 10 around 3.30pm in one of the lane at Somanagar. After the loclas rushed to the spot and informed the police about the murder. When the Bhoiwada police officials reached the spot, the accused, Mohsin alias Pappu, had already reached the police station and surrendered himself.

The accused was booked under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal code and further investigation is on and police will add more sections, if necessary.

A police official from Bhoiwada police station said, "We have taken the custody of the accused who have accepted the crime. The victim was attacked many times was taken to a private hospital and was later shifted to the Indira Gandhi Memorial hospital where he was declared dead. The accused has not disclosed the reason of the murder and further probe is on."
