27-year-old woman ends life in Vasai Creek

A 27-year-old Nalasopara-woman called up her father and informed him about the ill-doings of her in-laws before ending her life by jumping into the creek from Bhayander railway bridge. The fire brigade officials are yet to fish out the body.

Vaibhavi Patil, a resident of Nalasopara took a train to Bhayander railway station from Nalasopara and reached near the Jesal Park chowpatty. 

As she talked to her dad on the phone, locals who saw her rushing to the Bhayander railway bridge and jumping into the creek informed the fire brigade and the cops.

"The woman first informed her dad that she was ending her life due to repeated misdoings of her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and asked him to take care of her 2-year-old daughter," said a police officer.

Maurya Patil, father of the deceased revealed, "Her in-laws are to be blamed for this incident as they harassed her since she got married. I was helpless when she called me up, All I could do was listen to her ordeal. When I reached the incident spot, I found the fire brigade officers trying to search for the body.”

An eyewitness, Pramod Salunkhe said, "Due to high tide, the water level was high and the currents washed her away as fire brigade officials continue to search for her body," said
