26-year-old's ex-boyfriend held for rape

A 26-year-old was allegedly raped by her former boyfriend in Jogeshwari (East) after promising to marry her. The accused, Amar More, 32, has been arrested by the Jogeshwari police.

According to the police, the woman was in a relationship with the accused over the past one year. Pradeep Kale, senior PI of Jogeshwari police, said, "The duo came in contact with each other through Facebook. They started chatting on the social networking site and later started meeting each other."

While More worked as an office boy in Cuff Parade, the woman worked as a maid and resided in Bandrekarwadi in Jogeshwari. According to the victim, More promised to marry her and later sexually exploited her on three occasions. Recently, More started avoiding the victim and went back on his promise.

The woman then approached the Jogeshwari police on Monday evening and a case was registered. More was immediately arrested on charges of rape.
