A 23-year-old student allegedly fell off the 11th floor of a residential complex in Borivali (West) under mysterious circumstances on Thursday night. The police have registered a case of accidental death.

According to the police, Paramjit Singh had gone to the Gagan Giri building in Borivali to visit his aunt who lived on the 9th floor. At around 10 pm, the boy allegedly climbed up the drainage pipe attached to the house to the 11th floor. Narayan Khaire, senior PI of Borivali police, said, "He peeped inside the bathroom of an 11th floor house and tried to break open the window. A 17-year-old boy who was inside the bathroom saw Singh trying to get in. The boy naturally assumed he was a thief and started yelling. Startled, Singh lost his grip and fell off. "We still don't know why he had climbed up to the 11th floor. We are interrogating his aunt and family members. We are also taking statements from the boy who was inside the bathroom," added Khaire.

Although Singh was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital after the residents spotted him lying in a pool of blood, he could not be saved. He used to lived with his parents in the same area.
