21-year-old commits suicide

A 21-year-old resident of Titwala committed suicide by jumping off a bridge in Kalyan on Friday. No police case has been registered so far as her body has not been found in the waters till now.

Vidya Sanjay Dhavre, a student of Aggarwal College, was on her way back home when she took the extreme step around 10.15am. A passerby who saw her committing suicide informed the police. As she had left her bag on the bridge, it became easy for the police to identify her.

"In spite of the fire brigade and the police trying their best, her body has not been found till now. Hence, we cannot register a case, although her ID card gives her details," says Aslam Khatib, assistant police inspector, Mahatma Phule police station.
