In a tragic incident, a birthday party at Arnala beach for a group of five went horribly wrong as two of them drowned, while the remaining three were rescued by the locals. Coastal police, however, continues to search for bodies of the drowned youths.

The deceased — identified as Ashish Mohite (20) and Akshay More — were pulled into the sea due to the strong currents. "The youths were celebrating a birthday. The locals rescued three youths, who too got caught in the strong currents," said an Arnala Coastal police officer.

"Our team along with Coast Guards is trying to trace the bodies of the youths. Due to high tides, it has become difficult to find them," said a police official.

He added: "We have made a station diary entry about the incident and when the tides are low we will be able to fish out the bodies." The Arnala beach is known for deep pits near the shore which due to heavy water currents leads to drowning cases every year.
