A minor from Rabodi was allegedly raped repeatedly by two people over three months, the police said on Monday. Both culprits have been arrested.
The 15-year-old victim, a class 9 student at a Thane school, befriended 17-year-old Mohammad Akram (name changed) in June. Akram too lived in Rabodi and was a class 9 student. “After a few days of friendship, the girl claims, the boy forcefully had sexual relations with her,” said KG Chavan, investigating officer at Rabodi police station.
The victim later befriended Shoeb Umar Farooq Khatik, 24, another Rabodi resident, during Ramzan. “After the end of Ramzan, the girl claims, Khatik promised her marriage and raped her several times,” Chavan said.
The victim had not informed her parents, and it was only after she complained of pain in her private parts on Sunday, that her parents questioned her. “She then said she was being raped by two boys,” said Chavan.
The Rabodi police have registered a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal code and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. “We arrested both of them on Monday morning. Akram has been sent to Bhiwandi remand home, while Khatik was sent to police custody for five days,” Chavan added.
