15-year-old, who wanted to play cricket, stabbed to death

One would never imagine that a game of gully cricket would have deadly consequences for anyone. However, that’s exactly what happened when a 15- year-old boy was murdered by his neighbours who didn’t allow him to play in the compound.

One would never imagine that a game of gully cricket would have deadly consequences for anyone. However, that’s exactly what happened when a 15- year-old boy was murdered by his neighbours who didn’t allow him to play in the compound.

The incident took place on Saturday around 11.30pm when Zahid Khan was not allowed to play cricket by the accused. Zahid’s brother Imran Khan, 21, a mutton seller, got into a heated argument with them. Zahid was then stabbed in the stomach with a dagger.

Four persons Rizwan Shaikh, Sonu Qureshi, Tanwar Qureshi and Yusuf Shaikh have been arrested in the case.

Zahid was rushed to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra (West) but he had succumbed to his injuries by then. A complaint was lodged by the boy’s father Feroz Basheer Khan after which the accused were arrested.

The police have recorded the statements of the people who witnessed the incident.
