A total of 132 women cadets passed out as police sub inspectors (PSIs) from the Maharashtra Police Academy (MPA) in Nashik on February 11.

The passing out parade of the 111th batch of PSI training at the MPA grounds was witnessed by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds the state's home portfolio. Minister of state for home affairs Ram Shinde, director general of police Sanjeev Dayal, Director of MPA Naval Bajaj were also present at the parade. The families of the cadets too were a part of the moment of pride.

Naval Bajaj, director of MPA, presented the report of the academy. He urged the cadets to build strength of mind, courage, transparency in behaviour, professionalism and pride in work. He asked them to be prepared to serve the society and deal with the challenges of terrorism.

In his address, the chief minister appreciated the rising number of women taking police training and said that active women participation in the force is a sign of women's strength.
