103 crores for community's betterment on late Syenda's birth anniversary

The Dawoodi Bohra community will be able to avail Rs 103.51 crores as means of interest free loans. The amount of money was declared by new Syedna Muffadal Saifuddin on the occasion and memory of late community leader and his father, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin.

On Thursday, the Dawoodi Bohra Community celebrated late Syenda's 103rd birth anniversary who passed away on the 17th of January, 2014. The 53rd Dai-al-Mutlaq, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin delivered a discourse at Saifee Masjid, Bhendi Bazaar, Mumbai. During the sermon, the late leader's contribution and achievements were recollected.

The grant of rupees 103,51,52,000 will be given to anyone who needs it in for business, education or for housing needs. "It is something that was done every year as a respect for his birthday," said Shaikh Abdeali Bhanpurwala, executive secretary of late Syedna.

The community in the past two decades has observed 40 day period beginning from Prophet Mohammed's birthday to Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin's birthday with much enthusiasm and indulged in environmental, educational, economical, spiritual and medical development works. This year too a large number of activities were planned coinciding the late leader's birthday, though they cancelled after his demise. On Thursday, the Bohras renewed their involvement and commitment to all the initiatives started by their late leader. A large number of them also gathered to pay their homage at Raudat Tahera, the mausoleum where the late leader is buried.
