Check out century-old black and white photos of erstwhile Bombay's trams

While preserving the remains of over five-decade-old tram tracks found underneath Dr DN Road at Hutatma Chowk in South Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) will be affixing several immemorial and classic photographs of trams at their museum. The 100-metre tracks, which were discovered on Saturday near Flora Fountain, were removed and have been moved to be preserved at the BEST museum at Wadala for public display. "This is been done to showcase the past glory of transport network in Mumbai," BEST Public Relation Officer, Hanumant Gophane said.

"We have several photos of the tram, tram lines, passengers from Colaba to Pydhonie via Crawford Market. Plans are on to put up these photos as well along with the newly found remains at the museum," a senior BEST official, told iamin. The transport unit is also coordinating with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to get some more photos from their archives as well.He added that the department is also contemplating making a short film showcasing tram operations and network in Mumbai, which was captured in black and white frames.
