Will the Sena-BJP alliance fulfil its 'vachan nama', or manifesto, if it comes to power?

The Shiv Sena-BJP alliance has released a manifesto ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections on October 13. The manifesto claims that all efforts will be made to turn Mumbai into a truly state-of-the-art international city. The vachan nama was released by Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray at Sena Bhavan in Mumbai.

Other highlights include a 15% quota in jobs and educational institutions for economically backward classes and a special cell equipped with state-of-the-art technology to address citizens’ problems. The parties also claim to address the issue of farmer suicides by providing attractive loans to farmers.

On the infrastructure front, the manifesto claims the parties will expedite work on the Mumbai-Nashik eight-lane expressway and extend the Bandra-Nariman Point Sea Link up to Versova.

Will the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance fulfil its vachan nama if it comes to power in Maharashtra? Or is this just another bag of tricks before the assembly polls?
