Gurudas Kamat in a tete-a-tete with DNA

How many seats do you expect to win from Mumbai?
We will definitely get 25 seats and maybe even more, if we keep up the hard work. That is why I am making an extra effort to attend rallies and meetings of our NCP candidates too. Many hold the view that local MPs are not devoting much time to their constituencies. I can’t speak about others but my position’s different. I’m also a central minister, and have added responsibilities like having been the state campaign in-charge for the Parliamentary elections and I also look after other constituencies.

Many say you are not so visible in your constituency.
During Parliamentary elections, candidates try covering large areas. So they embark upon road shows and are more visible. During Assembly polls, candidates take to the streets to access voters. Every election has a different strategy.

Is your strategy yielding positive results?
Of course. A lot is being done behind the scenes, like settling disputes among party workers. As a senior functionary it is my job to keep the flock together and get good results for my party.
