How do you see the order from the Supreme Court?
It's an order from the apex court of the country, it has to be followed and implemented. However, the state government and the Mumbai police will now have a huge responsibility to ensure that crime and anti-social elements don't flourish.

What are the problems that will arise with dance bars opening?
There are a number of things that need to be taken care of. we have to ensure that anti-social elements don't flourish in the city. Fear of the police is a must and the onus of maintaining that as well as checking that no immoral activities are carried out behind the closed doors of dance bars will be on the force. It's important to make the streets of Mumbai safe and secure for common people because, with dance bars making a comeback, nightlife will be active once again.

What are the measures that can be taken to ensure that crime does not increase?
I think that the responsibility lies with the police and the bar owners. The police, of course, will do their work, but the bar owners should keep a close watch on the people coming in the bar. There have to be CCTV cameras to keep a close watch on every patron.

The revival is happening after almost 10 years, which means dancers of those times would have aged now and new girls would be needed. Will this increase human trafficking?
There is no doubt about that, it will definitely shoot up. Girls from various parts of the country will be trafficked into the city, something that will increase problems for the police. They will have to work hard to ensure that innocent girls are not pushed into this business. There have to be frequent checks and raids.

With 'Vasant Dhoble and his hockey stick' is not in the force anymore, do you think there will be fear among the bar owners?
It all depends on the policing; if that's up to the mark, then there will be fear of law and that is enough to keep a proper check.

It's also been said that dance bars back will increase in corruption in the police force. What is your take on this?
I agree. There will be extra money to be made and I am sure that the officers who want to earn quick extra bucks will surely find a way.

Will the informer network of the Mumbai police, which was believed to have flourished at dance bars, get activated again?
It is all false, there is no connection between dance bars and the network. Even after the dance bars were closed, human intelligence was developed by officers.
