My friend, who is a gallerist and is busy saving the whales, when she’s not documenting Warli art and its confluence with Ethiopian cave paintings, was telling me her views on Pratibha Patil’s nomination, recently.
“The important thing to note is that it may impact the negation of women as objective stereotypes of the male gaze, but then again in the post modern uni-polar scenario and after the all- important debunking of the Greer manifesto and the dismantling of the modern female animus, it might be a good thing after all.” she said.
Yes, I said.
“But objectively speaking, it might lead to a regrouping of the Kali mythology in obverse terminology and incipient semantics.” she said
Sure, I said.
“The fact that a woman is set to be commander of the armed forces, could set in motion a tangential evidence of fight and flight amidst the weaker sections of society.” she said.
Undoubtedly, I said.
“But then again there is something to be said for the all-pervasive link to the female animus in all its manifestations.” she said
So true, I said.
“As for the male response, we cannot calculate it in absolute terms, we will only have to wait and watch the supra ego in terms of finite resolution.” she said.
Sure, I said.
“But then again Pratibha’s nomination cannot mean a debunking of the all- too powerful symbol of female certitude, for that to happen there would be a tangible refrain from sentient analogy in subversive human incipience.” she said.
How well you put it, I said.
“In fact, and this is certain, I think that the act itself is a moment of extreme supra-imposition in absolute terms.” she said
Undoubtedly, I said.
“The thing to do in matters such as this is to wait and watch.” she said.
Wait and watch, I said.
“After all the fact is that history will not and cannot record the randomness of such a decision unless it adheres to the commonality of universal purpose and surety against all odds according to the Game theory”. she said.
The Game theory, I said.
“Which could mean that in the end there is a visceral lack of evidence to prove that women might in fact surrender to the qausi- liberal dominant forces that prevail in their psyche.” she said.
Their psyche, I said
“Not forgetting that in the midst of all of this, there is also the omni prevalent factor of the manifest in the un-manifest as pertaining to the female sensibility in regard to the male.” she said.
Yes of course, I said.
“But you can’t get away from the fact that all matter is finite and the female body is all too concurrent with the quasi liberal fraternity.” she said.
Uh- uh, I said
“Forget the ethics of it,” my friend the gallerist said.” I do not even think that the sociological happenstance of such a seismological and harbinger theory could revolutionise the weaker sections of society to a gross national number that would fly with the policy wonks.” she said.
The policy wonks, I said
“And finally, I like her choice of saris.” said my friend, the gallerist.
I agree, I said.
