Write about the ladies log they told me. Today is the day for us ladies peoples. We are to be celebrated, though some wag in the office told me that I have to buy lunch for all the men in the office. Someone else is very worried that women are drinking too much. I'm not buying anyone lunch and I'm going to have a drink - it's Women's Day after all, and all power to the wimmins, women, females, girls, boys, men, everyone. Have a good day and that's it from me.
More important is, how do I become a cricketer? This is the way to make it, clearly. Money, fame, adoration all come your way. Plus you get to go around some Indian city in an open-topped bus with many people waving and wearing flags. I have to say that all the colours in the Indian flag suit me a lot, as an Indian woman, white, orange, green and dark blue go very well with my skin.
These colours suit me better than that hideous One-Day International uniform suits our cricketers. Some lessons in how to play cricket will help. The age factor won't matter because since Indian cricketers become doddering ancients at 32, I'm so old as to be in my second childhood.
Since this is International Women's Day I'm assuming the world is on my side and my gender will not be an issue when it comes to playing cricket for the Indian team. Right, BCCI?
