Staying connected

Television actress Tina Dutta talks about the vibrant yet peaceful western suburb of Malad

Staying connected

I live on the 28th floor of Elanza at Malad (W). I think that the suburbs have developed tremendously. I have Inorbit Mall at a walking distance; Infiniti 2 is also close by. Everything in this area is available at your doorstep. From the variety of gourmet restaurants to supermarkets, you get almost everything.

Thanks to my location, I can commute easily from the western side to reach Filmcity on the eastern side, which is where the set of my show is. Even if I have to travel to Andheri, it's quite convenient. I can go to Charkop on one side and Madh Island on the other. Travelling to Mira Road for a shoot is also convenient via the Link Road.

I love this area a lot but I wish that it had more greenery; I hope that people would take up initiatives to plant more trees. Only then we can control the level of pollution and have more oxygen for breathing. However, the large park in my vicinity is perfect for morning and evening walks. I live on the 28th floor so my terrace is airy and gives a spectacular view of the sky and the city. From here, I can view the entire suburb of Malad and even Filmcity, which is green and gorgeous.

Malad is buzzing with activity all the time as it houses 24-hour call centre offices. In Malad, we also have the Goregaon Sports Club in addition to four-five good gyms. There are temples too and not much noise pollution. So one feels lot of peace and vibrancy, coupled with a feeling of spaciousness. Our area is safe throughout the day and night. Malad is an area which has options for everything. I can't think of living in any other suburb.
