The issue of safety is not personal any more, it is an issue we need to deal with together, as a society. The dna safety campaign How Safe Is Your City (http://www.dnaindia.com/HSIYC), which we had talked about in our last edition, is an initiative to make our cities safer–not only for women, but also for children, the homeless, senior citizens and more importantly for our family, friends and neighbours. Its aim is to give you a platform to voice your fears and opinions. We intend to start a discussion that delves deeper than slogans and candle light vigils. And I am happy to say that we have received a positive and pro-active response. We, on our part, have done a recce of the city ATMs and the results that our effort has thrown up, though unsettling, is hardly surprising I would say! So, look around you and speak up.
