Stars align to help Everesteer Krushnaa Patil scale K2

Bollywood lyricist Swanand Kirkire, music composer Shantanu Moitra, singer Shaan and stand-up comedian Vikram Sathaye will come together for a special concert titled Bawraas. The programme is organised in support of Krushnaa Patil, the youngest Indian woman to climb Mount Everest. Through this concert, they hope to raise enough funds for her K2 mountain range expedition.

Speaking about the initiative, Vikram Sathaye told DNA that this is their attempt to support a noble cause. Moitra, who himself is a mountaineer, introduced the other artistes to Patil’s achievements. “In India, disciplines like mountaineering needs a push. This is what we want to do with Bawraas,” Sathaye said.

Kirkire said, “I spontaneously said, ‘Arrey yeh toh Bawri hai.’ It is amazing that at such a young age, she has done so much. I was touched when she told me that she was listening to my song Bawra Mann through her Everest expedition. I am very proud of her. Though I haven’t reached there but because of her my song has reached Mount Everest!”

Musician and mountaineer Moitra too is in all praise for Patil. Moitra said, “As a mountaineer, one is aware that after a certain height above sea level, oxygen levels drop. But this is only in the mind. Determination and focus helps you reach your target. It is a privilege to help this young mountaineer set off on her second challenge through Bawraas.”
