The Budget Session of Maharashtra Legislature will begin on Monday.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar will present the state budget during the session on March 20.
The ruling Congress NCP government, however, faces challenge in the Budget Session with the opposition all set to highlight issues like severe drought in rural parts of Maharashtra, the alleged rape and murder of three minor sisters in Bhandara district, amongst others.
The issue of verbal spat between Ajit Pawar and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, which led to clashes between their party workers in different parts of the state, is also likely to figure during the session.
The opposition is also expected to raise issues like corruption cases against leaders, growing debt burden, water and power shortages.
