2-year-old dies in cylinder blast in Kandivali

A day after the twelve people injured after a gas cylinder filled with helium exploded in a scrap shop at Kandivali (W), a two year old girl succumbed to injuries on Friday.

The girl, who had received 90% burn injuries, has been identified as Priti Yadav, a resident of MG road in Kandivali (W) and was admitted in Nair hospital.

The incident occurred around 7:15 pm at the Islam Compound on MG Road in Kandivali. The injured, mainly children from the vicinity who were playing near the scrap shop and local residents were rushed to the nearby hospitals.

According to the Kandivali police, a scrap shop dealer was emptying an LPG cylinder before storing it in his shop.
