If you want your housing society or company to set up an Aadhaar registration booth on the premises, you will have to wait for two to three months.
The state plans to restart the facility only after the completion of registration of LPG connection holders and beneficiaries of the direct benefit transfer scheme.
A senior government official said Aadhaar enrolment will begin in housing societies and corporates only after a substantial number of beneficiaries are registered at the public booths. This will ensure there are no long queues at the registration centres.
With the Centre planning transfer of subsidies into bank accounts, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced “priority registration” for LPG consumers and scholarship holders.
The official said they had set up UIDAI registration kits at around 530 societies and companies in Mumbai, Pune and the MMR.
