Prashant Chavan, who has been given life imprisonment for murdering his wife, finally got a glimpse of his 10-year-old daughter on Thursday.
Since his sentencing in 2004, he had not seen his daughter. After Chavan requested the court to allow him to see his daughter, the Bombay high court had directed his in-laws to get her for an in-chamber discussion.
They had also asked Chavan to be present on the court premises, but had not promised him a dialogue with the girl. Chavan, who was standing outside the judges' chamber, could only see his daughter when she went in for a discussion with Justice NH Patil. He was not allowed to talk with her.
