Senior citizen found dead in Bandra home

The decomposed dead body of 70-year-old woman has found in bathroom of her residence at Bandra (West) on Sunday evening. The incident came into light after the neighbours got foul stench coming out from the deceased’s place then they informed to police control room about it. When the police broke open the door found her body in decomposed condition.

According to police, the deceased, Namila Chitramani Desai alias Nadkarni, who was living in her flat number 3 in Bindiya co-operative housing society, AKC Marg in Bandra (west). On Sunday around 6.10pm neighbours of the deceased called on police control room saying that foul odour was emanating from flat number 3.

The Bandra police was informed about the call and they rushed on the spot along with fire brigade official. They broke open the door in front of society secretary, Vijaya Joshi and two other eye witnesses. Nadkarni’s decomposed body was found in bathroom and Shah identified her and told to police that she is the owner of the house.

“The newspaper was lying on the door since February 12, so it appears that she died around 5 days ago after falling in the bathroom” said a police officer.
“The woman was staying alone in the house and we have informed her brother, Vijay Kulkarni, who lives in the United State about her death. The body was sent for the post mortem” said senior police inspector, Abhay Shastri of the Bandra police station. “In the preliminary investigation it appears that there is no foul play but we are investigating the case from all possible angles” added Shastri.
