Gone are the days when students would pore over textbooks try to cram in before board exams. Tech savvy students of Gen X, are using their android phones to prepare for the their Classes X and XII board exams.

Purva Nadkarni, 15, from Santa Cruz, who will be appearing for her class X ICSE exams this year, has downloaded ebooks onto her phone.

“I can read through my notes while commuting from school or coaching classes. It helps me utilise time to the maximum. I can go through my notes even when I am standing in a queue or in the train,” she said.

To help students prepare for exams, Attano, education solution providers, has launched an ebook reader. This is the only app on android phones in India that offers purchase of educational ebooks. Now, the company is also offering last-minute preparatory material for ICSE and CBSE. Students can directly download these ebooks to their computers or even on their android phones. This material has e-sample papers that students can solve and get Insta reports.

Over 20,000 students in the state are using such services, says Soumya Banerjee, CEO, Attano. “Such applications are popular with students as they help them study anytime and anywhere,” he said.

“Our e-sample papers have a lot of MCQs (multiple choice questions), students are able to test themselves and immediately see the results to know their level of preparedness. The content is created by a panel of teachers and the papers are even moderated by expert teachers.”
