Serial offender held for raping, killing minor

Pappu alias Sunil Salve, a notorious criminal, was arrested for raping and murdering a minor girl in Shirdi.

Salve had abducted the 9-year-old on December 28 last year. After the body of the girl was found near Shirdi railway station in a decomposed state, Salve arrested from Manmad on January 10, 2013. He was accused of abduction, rape and murder of the girl. Salve was produced in Rahata court, which remanded him in police custody till January 17, 2013. Ahemednagar police are investigating the matter.

Salve was a serial offender. There were many cases of rape and murder against him at many police stations. In December 2003, Pappu Salve, a resident of Nashik Road, was arrested in three criminal cases. In 2002, he had raped and murdered a minor girl in Ambad. The police had filed a case under Sections of 376 and 302 of the IPC. He was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment. In another case, he was awarded seven years’ imprisonment. These two cases were carried out in the Nashik court, simultaneously.

In another case, Salve had raped and murdered an 8-year-old girl from Malegaon. He was said to be working with the victim’s father at his small hotel and was asked to leave the job. The same afternoon, the girl went missing and her body was found beheaded in a well in Sinnar.
