Three employees of Natraj Bar at Tilak Nagar were found murdered under mysterious circumstances on Saturday. The trio had been stabbed to death by an unknown person, said the police.
The deceased have been identified as Basant Mudira (30), Bhaskar Dalvi (54) and Raja Dakolia (33). While Dalvi was the watchman, Mudira and Dakolia worked as cleaner and waiter respectively. The bodies were found in the premises of the bar. The bar’s located at Vidya Vihar (E), about 300 meters from Vidya Vihar station.
According to the police, the bodies were found around 8:30am by another sweeper who had come to clean the premises. He found the gate half-open, and saw Dalvi lying in a pool of blood on entering. “He then called the owner of the bar, Shailendra Singh. When Singh reached the spot, he went to check the rest of the premises and found Mudira and Dakolia’s bodies in the store room,” said BB Rathod, senior inspector of Tilak Nagar police station. The trio was taken to Rajawadi Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.
While Dalvi resided in Bhandup and was on night duty, Mudira and Dakolia lived in Nahur and Kalyan respectively. Police said that since Dakolia and Nahur stayed far off, they would rest in the store room for a few hours after the bar closed at 1.30am before taking the first train to their respective destinations each morning. They suspect the murders were committed between 2.30am and 5am.
