The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) plans to prepare a database of skilled local, as part of its 'Rojgar Naka' or 'employment junction' concept, to provide jobs to sons of the soil, its Thane unit self employment cell chief Sunil Basakhotre said here today.

Addressing a news conference here, he said that after the success of the concept in Mumbai last year, the MNS had decided to extend it to other parts of the state. He also made it crystal clear that only locals who have skills to be plumbers, electricians, masons and carpenters would be included in the database.

He said that it was noticed that those from outside Maharashtra were getting and doing these jobs due to which the party had decided to provide employment to locals. As per the concept, locals who need employment will register with the MNS help centre, with all details and documents.

After screening applicants, a database will be prepared at these help centres. Those needing such services will be required to contact the helpline with their requirements and they will be provided with these services for which a rate chart will be maintained, he said.

The credentials of applicants in the list will be examined and his police verification would also be undertaken. Applicants will also be provided identity cards by the MNS, he said.

Gradually, the service will be extended to malls and other areas, he said, adding that even maid servants will be included in the database.
